Consumer tapes are $19.95 per two-hour tape, the same price for every home format. Tapes of 2 to 4 hours count as two, blank tapes and recorded TV are never billed, and there is a $50 order minimum. Twelve standard tapes come to about $239.40, plus the drive you choose at its cost.

A home converter can work if you have a working VCR and a handful of tapes you do not mind risking. For tapes you cannot replace, we capture in real time at about 12.5 GB per two-hour tape, include time-based correction on VHS and VHS-C, and try stubborn tapes in more than one deck. Yes. Send a mixed box and we sort and identify every tape for you, at the same consumer price per two-hour tape. Everything goes on one drive in organized folders, along with any film, photos, or slides you add.

Higher quality means bigger files, and bigger files need a bigger drive. We use far less compression than most high-volume labs, so a two-hour tape comes out to about 12.5 GB with us versus roughly 1 GB per hour elsewhere. We charge only what the drive itself costs for the storage your project needs, with no markup.

No. Just send the tapes. We capture them on our own maintained equipment, so you do not need any hardware.

Often, yes. Stop playing it at home, because each play can strip more of the coating. We try troublesome tapes in more than one deck to get the best signal off them, though heavily damaged tapes have limits.

We skip them and never charge for them. You pay only for the tapes we actually convert, and we trim blank footage so your files are the memories, not the static.

You are not charged for its conversion, and any amount already paid for it is refunded. We tell you which tapes could not be converted, and why, before the final invoice, and the original comes back to you either way.
