Many family members lost photos in the California fires, so you can imagine the joy when they saw themselves on DVD. Others are real professionals, but the ones I have in mind cater to the professional filmmaker and command high prices. Scott and Legacy Digital did an amazing job of converting 4,000+ feet of 1960's 8mm film on 45+ separate reels to Blu-ray DVD and an external hard drive. I'm only part of the way through the first of 3 DVD's and just what I've seen already is worth more than what I paid. Legacy did a great job transferring a 400 foot reel of 16mm color movie film from 1943-1945. The quality was much higher than I expected, given that the films had been (improperly) stored and unused for about 50 years. I will be using Legacy to transfer more of these family treasures in the near future.

Legacy Digital did a fabulous job of getting our old family films and slides on dvd for my parents' anniversary. The quality was amazing and my parents were so surprised. At the fair i happened to stumble onto this great company after literally spending months trying to find a good company to convert my grand dad's old films and vhs. Low and behold, they talk me through their quality and practice, and I'm hooked! Because of the number i sent it took a short while, but the quality and price was amazing! I just has an old VHS of our ship's decommissioning given to me and I had no idea what to do with it. Legacy took care of that (DVD and MP4) and were very friendly and professional. I would use them again and recommend them to others.

Thanks to Scott I now have all of my mom and dad's 8 mm film from the 50' and 60's preserved on hard drive. It's such a pleasure dealing with a real person one on one let alone the owner of the company vs. a Costco or big box store. The quality of the conversion from film to hard drive is excellent and now I can play the movies on a flat screen TV. What impressed me most is that Scott will take time to explaining the process he uses and how it differs from other companies. As far as the pricing what are your once in a life time memories worth from 60 years ago. You can always pay more and get less as well as paying less and getting what you paid for.
