What Resolution (Quality) files will I get back?
We provide super high resolution scans at approximately 4400 dpi (6000 by 4000 pixels). That’s plenty of pixels for making 8 x 12 prints or larger). They are available with or without individual, manual color correction (not automated). A Slide show DVD movie version of your slides is also available. Please call for details.
Do I need Color Correction?
There are several brands of film out there and they all aged over time, some more gracefully than others. It is natural for old slides to shift color toward red or blue. Your family may have, on occasion, used indoor film outside or outdoor film inside and that would have caused incorrect color casts. sometimes were shot too dark or too light or sometimes film just faded over time. With the color correction, we address all of these characteristics of each individual slide and “Photoshop” them to make them look as good as we can. This is no automatic process, our colorists work on every slide individually.
If you are perfectly happy with how your slides look today, the premium option is a great, economic option for you. If you want to the go the extra step to make sure you get the best out of your slides, consider stepping to the premium option with color correction.
What File Types Do You Offer?
